This brownstone is located in the NE quadrant of Washington DC, about 3 miles from the nation's capital. It is a rapidly changing area, and many new homeowners are seeking to renovate this often-neglected buildings.

This young owner decided to make her kitchen an inviting place to cook and socialize by adding an antique silver tin ceiling. Urban Revivals installed this ceiling, and added the cornice molding and drop corners, in keeping with the turn-of-the-century feel of this home.

These tin ceiling panels were installed over drywall using a variant of drywall screws (with deeper-cutting treads). Cutouts were made for recessed lighting, and an "old style" pot rack was installed and tied into the ceiling joists for extra strength.
