FAUX PLASTER FINISHES

Urban Revivals can quickly the appearance of aged plaster through a variety of techniques. Some are based on paint alone, and involve created mottled base coats with highly diluted paint "dribbles" to create the look of dusty and aged plaster (very Italian looking - ideal for hallways and garden rooms).

Alternatively, we make use of skim costs of plaster compounds (or related compounds, such as drywall joint compounds) to create skim plaster coats of assorted textures. These  coats can be lightly stained to create the look of terracotta. In addition, we can use compounds containing marble dust to create a burnished finish. We also use glazes, applied with a trowel, for more luminous yet rustic finishes.
